UM Art Department goes to Washington, DC!
Spring Break 2025
Dates: March 24-March 29, 2025
Total cost: $1600
*may be more or less depending on the plane ticket cost
- $100 non-refundable deposit due by Nov. 1st
- Payments can be made monthly in the Art Office using card or check (no cash) Suggested payment schedule: 5 payments of $320
- Airfare cost is due 60 days before trip (Jan. 20th)
- Total price is due by March 1st
- Price includes double-occupancy room, breakfast, ground transportation, and plane ticket
- Free afternoons are good for visiting any of the 21 other Smithsonian Museums not on this list (National Air and Space Museum, National Portrait Gallery, National Museum of American History, National Zoo, Smithsonian Gardens, Women’s History Museum, and more!)
Itinerary: (subject to change)
- March 24: Meet at Birmingham airport, depart to Washington, DC (earliest flight possible) Museum of Natural History, group welcome dinner
- March 25: Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, then Renwick Gallery, afternoon free
- March 26: Smithsonian American Art Museum, break for lunch
- Washington Monument, WWII Monument, Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial
- March 27: National Museum of African American History, break for lunch, then MLK Memorial, afternoon free
- March 28: Rubell Collection, afternoon free
- March 29: Breakfast at hotel, depart for Birmingham
